Wayne county sheriff benny napoleon, MADD want motorists to be safe for the holidays
Wednesday, December 02, 2009

With the Holiday Season picking up speed, Sheriff Benny N. Napoleon and the entire Wayne County Sheriff’s office are hoping everyone will “Tie One On for Safety” by driving safely, buckling up and staying sober.

On Friday, December 4th, the team will join forces with Mother’s Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Southeast Michigan to drive that message home.

"Knowing that a person dies every thirty minutes as a result of impaired driving, and that another is injured in such incidents, should be sobering enough to convince everyone that drinking and driving kills, period," said Sheriff Benny Napoleon. "We want every one to celebrate with their loved ones not mourn them this holiday season."

In addition to supporting MADD in its mission on Friday, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office will be stepping up enforcement efforts on area roads leading up to Christmas and into the New Year. Join us as we stand in lockstep with MADD to keep our motorists and their loved ones safe.
