Sheriff Benny N. Napoleon Promotes Lieutenants And Sergeants
Thursday, August 06, 2009At a ceremony filled with family, friends and various law
enforcement and civic dignitaries including Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano, Sheriff Benny
N. Napoleon promoted eight members of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office to the level of
Lieutenant and Sergeant. The one-hour program allowed the Sheriff to praise the promotees
accomplishments who, together, average 17 years of experience in the department.
“The men and women of this department have fully dedicated themselves to serving the citizens,
business owners and various stakeholders in Wayne County,” said Sheriff Napoleon. “Their role
in public service calls on their inherent abilities as managers and administrators and today, we
reward them with a new level of responsibility of which I am confident each one is prepared to
implement successfully.
The promotees honored at today’s program are as follows:
Lt. Alan Bulifant. Lieutenant Bulifant has been with Wayne County for 15 years. He was
Lieutenant Bulifant has been with Wayne County for 15 years. He waspromoted to Detective in 2002 and Sergeant in 2007. Lt. Bulifant has many certificates in
recognition of his many achievements and received 11 letters from the Director of Jails and his
Commanding Officers on having perfect attendance stating he is a fine example for fellow
employees. Lt. Bulifant is currently assigned to Internal Affairs.
Lt. Timothy Harris. Lieutenant Timothy Harris has been with Wayne County for 13 years. He
Lieutenant Timothy Harris has been with Wayne County for 13 years. Hewas promoted to Sergeant in 2007. During this time, Lt. Harris received numerous certificates
acknowledging his achievements. In 2004, he received from the United States Department of
Transportation through the Drug Interdiction Assistance Program a certificated for Rapid Risk
Recognition, Assessment, and Response. Lt. Harris is currently assigned to FOC/Civil Process.
Lt Gregory Spiaser. Lieutenant Gregory Spiaser has been with Wayne County for 13 years. In
Lieutenant Gregory Spiaser has been with Wayne County for 13 years. In2007, Lt. Spiaser was commended by his Commanding Officer for not using any sick days during
2006. Lt. Spiaser is assigned to Classification - Jail III.
Sgt Michael Bemis. Sergeant Michael Bemis has been with Wayne County for 24 years. He
Sergeant Michael Bemis has been with Wayne County for 24 years. Hewas promoted to Corporal in 2000 and Detective in 2002. Sgt. Bemis received his completion of
Jailers Training Certificate in 1985. Sgt. Bemis is assigned to Internal Affairs.
Sgt. Ryan Florios. Sergeant Ryan Florios has been with Wayne County for 17 years. Florios
Sergeant Ryan Florios has been with Wayne County for 17 years. Florioshas received four letters acknowledging his perfect attendance. He has also completed Field
Training and also Training from the Detroit Fire Academy for Health and Safety. Sgt. Florios is
currently assigned to Jail Division II.
Sgt. Diane Troszak. Sergeant Diane Troszak has been with Wayne County for 10 years. She

Registry.
Sgt. Jeffrey Linderman. Sergeant Jeffrey Linderman has been with Wayne County for 24
Sergeant Jeffrey Linderman has been with Wayne County for 24years. He was promoted to Corporal in 1999. Sgt. Linderman received a certificate in 1987 from
then Sheriff Ficano in recognition of Valuable Service performed in Line of Duty for Northwest
Flight 255 Crash Rescue and Recovery. Sgt. Linderman is currently assigned to Jail Division I.
Sgt. Peter Ross. Sergeant Ross has been with Wayne County for 25 years. He was promoted

Sheriff Ficano in recognition of Valuable Service Performed in Line of Duty during the Pastoral
Visit by John Paul II. Sgt. Ross is currently assigned to FOC-Enforcement.
