Education is always an important facet
of a community; employers, educators and parents all share a
common interest in attaining the highest quality of education possible.
Wayne County has 35 school districts.

A number of measures indicate the
effectiveness of a school system: pupil - teacher ratios, expenditures
per pupil, and standardized testing scores.
HIGHER
EDUCATION
Some 20 institutions of
higher learning are based in Wayne County. Wayne State
University and the University of Michigan-Dearborn
are nationally renowned public universities; in addition,
the public community colleges offer vital educational
opportunities at an affordable cost to the residents
of the County. The independent colleges and universities,
in turn, offer a broad variety of curriculums from
business, design, and social sciences, to law.
