Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Chighland Tyrell Tucker, 30 (DOB: 5/01/86) of Detroit, in connection with the non-fatal shooting of a 27-year-old Mount Pleasant woman. The victim and the defendant have a child in common.

On October 14, 2016 at 8:45 p.m., it is alleged that the defendant came to the driveway of the victim’s mother’s home located in the 12000 block of Rosemont. He walked up the victim while she was waiting outside in her car, pulled out a handgun and shot her multiple times. Police and medics responded to the scene and the victim was taken to a local hospital where she is currently receiving treatment. Earlier in the day it is alleged that Tucker came to the Rosemont house and the victim’s mother asked him to leave.

The defendant has been charged with Assault with Intent to Murder, Felonious Assault, Aggravated Stalking, Felony Firearm Second Offense, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Felony Firearm. Defendant Tucker was arraigned today in 36th District Court before Magistrate Laura Echartea. The probable cause conference is scheduled for October 24, 2016 at 9:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for October 31, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Patricia Jefferson in 36th District Court.
