Detroit Man Charged in Parker Street Murder

On May 14, 2016 Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Torius Inge, 46 (DOB: 1/29/70), of Detroit, with Open Murder and Third Degree Arson. On May 12, 2016 at approximately 1:30 p.m., the Detroit Fire Department was dispatched to a home in the 5070 block of Parker in Detroit. When they arrived at the house, they discovered a dead woman, later identified as Grace Willie Hughes, 56, of Detroit. Her lifeless body had been burned, there was trauma to her head and multiple swab wounds on her body.

The Detroit Police Department conducted an investigation that identified Inge as the suspect. The defendant was arraigned and remanded to jail in 34th District Court in Romulus on May 14, 2016. The facts of the case will be presented at the preliminary examination in 36th District Court in Detroit.

The probable cause hearing is scheduled for May 26, 2016 at 8:30 a.m.; and the preliminary examination is scheduled for June 2, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. Both hearings are before Judge Deborah Langston in 36th District Court.

Mateen Cleaves - Defendant charged in connection with an alleged sexual assault of a 24-year-old woman. Today the probable cause conference was held and the preliminary examination date was set for June 28, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. before Judge Dowd in 67th District Court in Flint.

Two Taylor Men Charged in Homicide of River Rouge Man

Today Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged two Taylor men in connection with the homicide of Michael Lee Stratford, (DOB: 10/26/77), of River Rouge. On May 9, 2016, Mr. Stratford was reported missing by a family member who indicated his last known location was at a home in the 22100 block of Brian in Taylor. On May 14, 2016, a lifeless male body was discovered in Washtenaw County by authorities, subsequently transported to the Washtenaw County Medical Examiner's Office. The body was later identified as Mr. Stratford. An investigation conducted by the Taylor Police Department identified brothers Adam L. Brown, 41 (DOB: 6/22/74) and Wesley D. Brown, 35 (DOB: 6/2/80), each of Taylor, as suspects in the case. Wesley Brown has been charged with Open Murder and Disinterment and Mutilation of a Dead Body. Adam Brown has been charged with Disinterment and Mutilation of a Dead Body and with Accessory After the Fact. The facts and evidence in the case will be presented at the preliminary examination.

Both defendants were arraigned. For both of them, the probable cause hearing is scheduled for June 1, 2016 at 12:55 p.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for June 6, 2016 at 12:55 p.m.; both hearings before Judge Geno Salomone. Wesley Brown was remanded to jail and Adam Brown received a $1M cash/surety bond.
