Ikeie Ranordo Smith - On Friday afternoon on September 9, 2016, Smith, 32, of Redford Township, was charged and remanded to jail in 17th District Court in connection with two home invasions and sexual assaults against two women in Redford Township. The first case occurred in 2014 and Smith was charged with Home Invasion, Criminal Sexual Conduct First Degree and Criminal Sexual Conduct Second Degree. The second case occurred in 2016 and Smith was charged with Home Invasion, Armed Robbery, Criminal Sexual Conduct First Degree and Criminal sexual conduct Second Degree. The probable cause hearing is on September 20, 2016.

On Friday morning, September 9, 2016, Smith was arraigned and remanded to jail in 21st District Court in Garden City on one count of Home Invasion - 1st Degree; three counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct-1st Degree; and one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct - 2nd Degree. The probable cause hearing is on September 19, 2016. WCPO has not received any new warrant requests at this time.

Ikeie Ranordo Smith, 32, of Redford Township:

Redford Township

Garden City Charges

On Friday morning on September 9, 2016, in the morning Smith was arraigned and remanded to jail in 21st District Court in Garden City on one count of Home Invasion First Degree; three counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct First Degree; and one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct Second Degree. The probable cause hearing is on September 19, 2016.

Allen Park Charges

On Tuesday, September 13, 2016 Smith, has been charged in connection with a sexual assault against a woman that occurred in Allen Park in July 6, 2015. The charges are Home Invasion First Degree; three counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct First Degree. Smith was arraigned today in 24th District Court. The probable cause conference is scheduled for September 26, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Page; the preliminary examination is scheduled for October 3, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. before Judge Courtright in 24th District Court. Smith received a $1,000,000 cash bond. There was another warrant that has been denied.

Dearborn Heights

On Tuesday, September 13, 2016, the Dearborn Heights Police Department has presented two warrants this morning that are currently being reviewed.

Detroit Man Charged in Carjacking and Non-Fatal Shooting of an 81-Year-Old Detroit Man

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Corey Kelvin Hill, 25 (DOB: 11/02/1990), of Detroit, in the carjacking and non-fatal shooting of 81-year-old Herman Garth. On August 30, 2016, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Mr. Garth was leaving a convenience store in the 18000 block of Joy Road in Detroit when he noticed two males standing at his vehicle. It is alleged that one of the men grabbed Mr. Garth while Hill pulled out a gun and demanded money and the car keys. It is further alleged that after the victim complied with the demands, Defendant Hill shot him and drove away from the scene. The other man fled the scene on foot. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Defendant Hill has been charged with Carjacking; Armed Robbery; Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm Less than Murder; Unlawful Driving Away - Automobile; Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property - Motor Vehicle; Possession of Cocaine; Carrying a Concealed Weapon; Felon in Possession - Weapon; Felon in Possession - Ammunition and Felony Firearm. Defendant Hill was arraigned today before Magistrate Millicent Sherman in 36th District Court. The probable cause conference is scheduled for September 20, 2016 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for September 26, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Kenneth King in 36th District Court. The defendant received a $200,000 cash/surety bond.

Detroit Man Charged in Non-Fatal Shooting of His Father on Dickerson Street in Detroit

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Marquise Cromer, 25 (DOB: 06/19/1995) in connection with the non-fatal shooting of his father, Sterling Cromer. On September 11, 2016 at approximately 5:00 p.m. in his home located in the 2100 block of Dickerson in Detroit, victim Sterling Cromer was eating at the dining room table. It is alleged that while he was seated, Defendant Marquise Cromer, his son, pointed and fired a shotgun, striking the victim's feet. The victim was able to exit the home and fled to a neighbor's home. It is further alleged that the defendant then pointed the shotgun at his stepmother who, after telling the defendant to stop and the defendant lowered the shotgun, was able to flee the home. The defendant fled the location in a van.

Cromer is charged with two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, Firearms Discharge in a Building Causing Injury and Felony firearm. He was arraigned this afternoon before Magistrate -more- 4 Millicent Sherman in 36th District Court. The probable cause conference is scheduled for September 20, 2016 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for September 26, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Deborah Langston in 36th District Court. The defendant received a $750,000 cash/surety bond.

Detroit Man Charged in Torture and Sexual Assault near Schoolcraft Avenue in Detroit

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Alex Myron Moore, 49 (DOB: 12/13/1966) of Detroit, in connection with the torture and sexual assault of a Detroit woman. It is alleged that on September 10, 2016 at approximately 3:00 a.m., the victim was found beaten and sexually assaulted near the intersection of Schoolcraft and Hartwell in Detroit. The victim was transported to a medical facility for treatment.

Defendant Moore has been charged with Torture and Assault With Intent to Murder. Moore was arraigned this morning before 36th District Court Magistrate Charles Anderson. The probable cause conference is scheduled for September 21, 2016 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for September 27, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Deborah Langston in 36th District Court. The defendant received a $200,000 cash/surety bond.

Today, Smith has been charged in connection with a home invasion and sexual assault against a woman that occurred in Dearborn Heights on December 9, 2013. The charges are Home Invasion and one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct - Second Degree. He is expected to be arraigned today in the late morning. Updates will be provided as information becomes available.

Today the second warrant for Smith has been charged in connection with a home invasion and sexual assault of a woman that occurred in Dearborn Heights on September 9, 2014. The charges are Home Invasion First Degree one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct - Second Degree, and Torture.

The arraignment for Smith will take place in 20th District Court in Dearborn Heights at 2:00 p.m. today on both cases.

Ikeie Ranordo Smith- On August 10, 2013 it is alleged that Smith broke into the Dearborn home of a woman. He has been charged with Home Invasion First Degree. On August 13, 2015 it is alleged that he broke into the Dearborn home of another woman. He has also been charged with Home Invasion First Degree in the second case. 

Because there are other cases connected to Smith that are currently being investigated we continue to request that Smith's face not be photographed during court proceedings.

Today Smith was arraigned in 19th District Court in Dearborn on two home invasion cases. Smith's probable cause conference of September 23, 2016 and a preliminary examination date of September 30, 2016. His bond set at $100,000 cash or surety. Smith is represented by attorney Wyatt Harris.

Dearborn Heights Cases

On Tuesday, September 13, 2016, the Dearborn Heights Police Department presented two warrants for review. Today, Smith has been charged in connection with a home invasion and sexual assault against a woman that occurred in Dearborn Heights on December 9, 2013. The charges are Home Invasion First Degree, Criminal Sexual Conduct - Second Degree.

On Wednesday, September 14, 2016 the second warrant for Smith has been charged in connection with a home invasion and sexual assault of a woman that occurred in Dearborn Heights on September 9, 2013. The charges are Home Invasion First Degree one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct - Second Degree and Torture.

Smith was arraigned and his probable cause conference is on September 28, 2016 and his preliminary examination is on October 5, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. on both cases in 20th District Court in Dearborn Heights at 2:00 p.m.

Defendant Cromer Charged in Non-Fatal Shooting of DPD Sergeant

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Marquise Cromer, 25 (DOB: 06/19/1995) in connection with the non-fatal shooting of a Detroit police sergeant. On September 11, 2016 at approximately 5:00 p.m., in his home located in the 2100 block of Dickerson in Detroit, victim Sterling Cromer was eating at the dining room table. The defendant fled the home in a van and the Detroit Police Department received a 911 call that he was seen in a restaurant in the 15000 block of East Seven Mile Road. Police officers observed Cromer run from the location to a gas station at Seven Mile Road and Hayes. A sergeant who was pursuing Cromer came around a corner and it is alleged that Cromer shot him in the shoulder. The sergeant was taken to a local hospital and was treated for his wounds. Cromer continued to run, but was apprehended by the police shortly after the shooting incident. It is further alleged that the defendant was uncooperative and resisted the police when he was arrested.

Today Cromer has been charged with: one count of Assault with Intent to Murder; one count of Resisting and Obstructing Police Officer Causing Serious Impairment; three counts of Resisting and Obstructing a Police Officer; one count of Possession of a Short Barreled Shotgun; and Felony Firearm. Cromer is expected to be arraigned on the charges today at 2:30 in 36th District Court.

*On September 13, 2016, Cromer was charged with two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, Firearms Discharge in a Building Causing Injury and Felony Firearm in connection with the shooting of his father. Mateen Cleaves - Former MSU basketball player charged in connection with an alleged sexual assault in Mount Morris, MI. Today the court granted a stay of proceedings in the preliminary examination because the defense has filed an application for leave to appeal with the Seventh Circuit Court in Genesee County. There are no court dates at this time.

Defendant Cromer Charged in Carjacking and Non-Fatal Shooting Case

Defendant Marquise Cromer, 21, (DOB: 06/19/1995), of Detroit, has been charged in connection with an assault and carjacking. On September 11, 2016, it is alleged that Cromer went to a car wash located in the 1100 block of Conant near Casmere Street and approached a 23-year-old man, demanded his pick-up truck, and then shot the man with a sawed off shotgun in the stomach. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

A warrant request for the case was presented today and Cromer has been charged with: one count of Assault with Intent to Murder; Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily, one count of Possession of a Short Barrel Shot Gun; and one count of Felony Firearm. Cromer is expected to be arraigned on the charges today at 2:30 in 36th District Court.

Couple Charged in Infant Unsafe Sleeping Death

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Lorenzo Brooks, 30 (DOB: 03/24/1986) and Leticia Molton, 38 (DOB: 07/13/1978) with Involuntary Manslaughter and Child Abuse - Second Degree regarding the death of their 11-month-old son. It is alleged that on September 15, 2016 at approximately 4:00 a.m., Defendant Molton woke up and discovered the infant unresponsive. Defendant Brooks took the infant to a medical facility. The facts will be presented on the record in court at the preliminary examination.

The defendants are expected to be arraigned tomorrow in 34th District Court in Romulus on Saturday, September 17, 2016 after 11:00 a.m.

Prosecutor Kym Worthy said, "There are babies in this county dying that should not be dying. Unsafe sleep practices can be just as fatal to a baby as a gun or knife. The alleged actions of both parents in this case are criminal - they knew their alleged actions could result in the death of their child."

Lorenzo Brooks and Leticia Molton - Defendants charged in the death of their 11-month-old infant. Morton and Brooks were arraigned today and received a 50,000 cash/surety bond. The probable cause hearing date for Brooks and Morton is on September 23, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. in 36th District Court.
