2007 Events --> October 27, 2007 Annual Harvest Fest co-hosted this season
The first-ever joint Harvest Fest between Wayne County and the city of Detroit was deemed successful, despite an uncooperative Mother Nature.
This Harvest Fest near Eastern Market was Wayne County's third of the season: Two other events in Edward Hines Park attracted hundreds of children and families. Under rainy skies (that no one seemed to mind), this final event near Eastern Market featured pie-eating contests, hay and pony rides, food, pumpkin painting and other activities. Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano has hosted an annual Harvest Fest dating back several years. Along with a number of private and civic agencies, Detroit City Council co-hosted this year's event. Dozens of volunteers also participated. Wayne County now gears up for turkey donations and the nationally recognized holiday Light Fest along Hines Drive. Executive Robert Ficano Hosts Michigan State Spartan Pre-game Event
On Wednesday, December 3, more than 70 invited guests enjoyed a fabulous evening on the 32nd floor of the historic Guardian Building.
