Black Family Development
Black Family Development Inc. (BFDI) is a private non-profit counseling agency that was created in 1978 by the Detroit Chapter of the National Association of Black Social Workers.(DABSW) By establishing BFDI as a family counseling agency, DABSW sought to promote and provide quality social work services in Detroit that were culturally relevant and culturally sensitive.
Bridgeway Services
As a contracted provider of Bridgeway Services LLC, The Guidance Center's Juvenile Justice Program is responsible for providing care management services to youth in Southern Wayne County.
Using a Wraparound process, families, professionals, and other community members work together as full partners in the process of establishing a needs/strengths-based plan, evaluating the progress, and making decisions regarding utilization of resources.
Central Care Management Organization
CCMO is a care management organization that is responsible for providing treatment services to at risk, probationary and adjudicated youth and families that reside in the culturally diverse areas of Highland Park, Hamtramck and Central Detroit.
CCMO in partnership with treatment service providers and faith based and community organizations focuses on the needs of our youth and families and implements services that assist the youth in becoming a productive, law abiding citizen that is not only an asset to his or her self, but also their family and community. This system of care allows CCMO staff to provide support, advocacy and case management services to the youth.
Juvenile Assess Center
The Juvenile Assessment Center (JAC) is a centralized assessment and
evaluation center for the Department of Children & Family Services of
Wayne County, Michigan.
The mission of the Juvenile Assessment Center is to be the source of
accurate information and competent recommendations that identify the
unique needs of referred youth and families in Wayne County and enable
community organizations to restore successful living, increase healthy
development and promote safer communities
It was established in 1999, under the auspices of Wayne County
Department of Community Justice (now the Department of Children and
Family Services), to provide a visionary new approach to:
- Reclaim youth and families
- Make communities safer
- Manage dollars better
By combining the best expertise in juvenile justice, behavioral health,
education and community services, Wayne County created a county-based,
culturally competent juvenile justice network. The JAC in the hub of a
network of five Care Management Services (CMO) designed to serve all
court-referred juveniles and families in Wayne County. Additionally, a
county administered Juvenile Agency Information System (JAIS) ties all
services together, monitors contract performance, tracks juveniles in
the system, and issues reports built on its central database.
StarrVista
StarrVista is a care management organization that offers a system of services designed to invest resources of time, energy and people in the lives of youth and their families. The expected returns on these investments include:
- Assisting in creating a stable living situation.
- Keeping youth in school, pursuing a GED or in a work situation.
- Rebuilding relationships and working to repair the harm caused in the community.
- Building upon the strengths of the youth, so they will make better choices in the future.
Western Wayne/Growth Works
In February 2000, Growth Works, Inc. began operation of the Western Wayne Care Management Organization (WWCMO). WWCMO is one of five CMO’s established by the Wayne County Department of Community Justice to provide case management services for adjudicated youth and families.
WWCMO ensures availability and access to a full array of juvenile justice services on a community bases or residential level. Treatment will be culturally competent, strength-based and youth and family-centered. The goal is to become accountable for their actions, remain offense free and improve public safety. |
