Our two Satellite Offices in Westland and Northville Twp process death certificate requests for deaths that occurred OUTSIDE the City of Detroit ONLY. There is NO same day service for death certificates at our Satellite Offices. An order placed at our Westland Satellite Office can be picked up the following business day after 1:00 pm or have it mailed. An order placed at our Northville Twp Satellite Office can either be picked up the following Thursday or mailed.
The fees for obtaining copies of death certificates are $22.00 for a certified copy and $7.00 for additional certified copies of the same record. They are made payable to Wayne County Clerk by money order, cashier's check, or certified check [by mail] and by cash [in person].
To change or correct information on a Michigan Death Certificate you must do so through the State of Michigan. (click here)
