Grosse Pointe Farms
Farms Pier Park is a 17-1/2 acre site located at the foot of Moross Road. It has a 200 foot beach and offers a number of outdoor recreations such as an outdoor swimming pool, picnic area with grills and tables, tennis courts, shuffleboard, two playgrounds, a fishing dock and much more. Kerby Field is another park located at Chalfonte and Kerby and is primarily an athletic facility. Cottage Hospital, a major medical facility, services the community along with St. John and Bon Secours Hospitals nearby. Several beautification projects in the community have been funded by The Grosse Pointe Farms Foundation, a private non-profit foundation organized to collect donations to supplement city funds for non-essential improvements. Grosse Pointe Farms is responsible for the maintenance of all streets within its boundaries accept for Mack Avenue and Lake Shore Road, which are maintained by Wayne County. The city also organizes a schedule of sidewalk repair, which is implemented and paid for by adjacent property owners. The Farms also has its own water pumping station-filtration plant which pumps water from Lake St. Clair and is then purified and fluoridated before distribution.

Pointe Farms is serviced by a number of shopping areas as well
as several cultural and recreational facilities, including the
Grosse Pointe Historical Society, three private clubs [Country
Club of Detroit, Crescent Sailing Club and Grosse Pointe Club],a
boat club and two parks.
