The
City of Wayne is located in the central part of Wayne County. It
is the second largest manufacturing site for Ford Motor Co. in the
nation.
Bustling with unique antique shops and other specialty stores, Wayne
is the corridor for professionals seeking to start a business or
conduct their day-to-day activities in a community that remains dedicated
to its patronage of local establishments.
Encompassing six square miles, Wayne is located only a few minutes
away from: major freeways such as I-75 and I-94; the Detroit Metropolitan
Wayne County Airport; two public malls; national chain hotels; and
many restaurants of a wide variety of cuisines.
Michigan Avenue is the main thoroughfare for the City where several
commercial and industrial businesses are situated including the Michigan
Truck Plant, Wayne Stamping and Assembly Plant and the Ford Paint
Plant.
A population of just under 20,000, residential developments in the
community include single-family homes and modern apartment dwellings.
The City shares its public school system with the City of Westland.
