The mission statement of the Water Quality Division is to:
Provide a leadership role in the protection, restoration and stewardship of
streams, rivers, lakes, ponds, wetlands and groundwater in Wayne County through
the advancement of a holistic watershed management approach.
To accomplish this mission, personnel within the division will strive to achieve
an efficient and cohesive watershed management team, with clarity of purpose
and future, focused on delivering watershed management leadership and services
to the citizens, communities and agencies in Wayne County.
The vision statement of the Water Quality Division is to realize, by
the year 2005, a measurable improvement in the quality of Wayne County's
watershed resources and in their perception and use by the public. WQD
envisions being recognized locally and nationally as the model for watershed
management and environmental protection, through its actions and commitment.
