Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Derronn Deshawn Sherard, 24 (DOB: 09/05/95), of Detroit, in connection with fleeing from Detroit police. On September 8, 2017 after 12:00 p.m. on I-75, it is alleged that Sherard refused to stop his car when ordered by Detroit police officers riding in a fully marked police cruiser. It is further alleged that the defendant abandoned his car and fled on foot across several lanes of traffic on I-75. He has been charged with Fleeing and Eluding the Police Third Degree, Resisting and Obstructing the Police, Possession of Heroin, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Marijuana*.

Sherard was arraigned today in 36th District Court and received a $75,000 cash/surety bond. The probable cause conference is scheduled for September 18, 2017 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled September 25, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before 36th District Court Judge Kenneth King.
