Today Michigan Court of Appeals Judge Henry Saad, (DOB: 1/15/48), has been charged with Possessing a Firearm in a Sterile Area, a 90-day misdemeanor. On February 21, 2016 at 8:29 a.m., it is alleged that Judge Saad was in the security area at Detroit Metro Airport when a handgun was found in his carry-on bag. The handgun was confiscated and Judge Saad was released pending a warrant request by the airport authorities.

"Airport security breaches - even unintentional ones - are taken very seriously," said Prosecutor Worthy. "We have consulted with officials at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport, and are charging Judge Saad with a misdemeanor offense consistent with others that have allegedly committed a similar offense."

Today Judge Saad presented himself for arraignment and entered a guilty plea to Possessing a Firearm in a Sterile Area, a 90-day misdemeanor. Judge Tina Greene allowed Judge Saad to enter a guilty plea to in the court's chambers in 34th District Court in Romulus. The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office noted their disagreement with Judge Green's decision to not hold the proceedings on the record in open court.
