Three Women Charged in Detroit Graffiti Case

Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged three Grosse Pointe Woods women in connection with spray painting buildings located in the 40 block of Michigan Avenue and in 1100 block of Griswold in Detroit. On June 22, 2014 at approximately 9:30 p.m. Isabella Mary Meteer 18 (DOB 2/16/96)*, of Royal Oak, Mackenzie Lynn Snitgen, 17 (DOB 11/30/96), of Grosse Pointe Woods and Mary Elizabeth Harder, 17 (DOB 9/20/96), of Grosse Pointe Woods, are alleged to have participated in defacing two downtown buildings with graffiti.

The defendants are each charged with one count of Malicious Destruction of a Building $1000 to $20,000, a felony which carries a five year maximum penalty. Today the three defendants appeared for their pre-examination hearing before Judge Kevin Robbins. The court granted the defense request for an adjournment of the case until August 4, 2014 at 9:00 a.m.

*Ms. Meteer's first name is Isabella. It was incorrectly spelled in court and police records as Esabella; it has since been corrected.

Theodore Wafer - Dearborn Heights man charged with Second Degree Murder in fatal shooting death of Renisha McBride. The jury has been selected in the case. Opening statements are expected to begin before Judge Dana Hathaway between 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. after some preliminary matters are resolved.

Juvenile Male in Detroit Motor City Pride Festival Assault Takes Guilty Plea

Today, a 16-year-old Detroit juvenile male pleaded no contest to Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm in connection with the June 8, 2014 beating of Christin Howard, 20, of Detroit that occurred at a gay pride festival in Detroit. The juvenile will be sentenced at a disposition hearing before Judge Karen Braxton on August 26, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the Lincoln Hall of Justice.

Raymone Jackson - Charged in the fatal shooting death of two-year-old infant girl and the not fatal shootings of a 13-year-old female and the father of the infant girl. Today Jackson had his arraignment on the information before Judge David Groner and entered a plea of not guilty to Murder First Degree, Assault with Intent to Murder, Torture, Felonious Assault, Felon in Possession and Felony Firearm. At the request of defense counsel, the case was blind drawn to the trial docket of Judge Ulysses Boykin and a calendar conference (scheduling conference) will be held on July 25, 2014 at 9:00 a.m.

Jackson's co-defendant, Raphael Hearn, is charged with first-degree murder, two counts of assault with intent to murder, felon in possession of a firearm and felony firearm. On July 16, 2014, Hearn was referred for a mental competency evaluation and will have a competency hearing on September 4, 2014 in 22nd District Court.

Latrez Cummings and James Davis - Defendants charged in the Steve Utash. Today Judge James Callahan denied the Motions for Re-Hearing for the two defendants and continued their original sentences.* The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office is disappointed in Judge Callahan's sentences for Cummings and Davis. The low sentences do not reflect the seriousness of the crime. We are currently determining the next course of action in the case," said Maria Miller.
