Inkster Man Charged in Murder of Girlfriend

On Friday, March 30, 2018, Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged Jerome Duckwyler, 35 (DOB: 10/21/1982), in connection with the homicide of his girlfriend, Michelle Nicole Briscoe (DOB: 09/09/1981), both of Inkster. On March 29, 2018 at approximately 6:30 a.m., at an apartment in the 250 block of Cherry Valley Drive, it is alleged that Duckwyler fatally shot Ms. Briscoe multiple times. The Inkster police were dispatched to the location where they discovered Ms. Briscoe's lifeless body and placed Duckwyler under arrest.Defendant Duckwyler has been charged with First Degree Murder and Felony Firearm.* He was arraigned and remanded to jail on Saturday, March 31, 2018 in 34th District Court in Romulus. He will have a probable cause hearing on April 11, 2018 in 22nd District Court in Inkster.

Detroit Man Charged in Theft of Detroit Transit Department Vehicle

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Jerome S. Adams, 36, (DOB: 10/14/1981), of Detroit, in connection with stealing a fully marked Detroit Transit Department vehicle. On April 1, 2018, it is alleged that Adams dropped his bicycle, ran across Woodward Avenue near Sproat Street and attempted to enter a running vehicle. It is alleged that Adams assaulted a Transit officer near the car, and drove it away. The defendant drove approximately two blocks away at a high rate of speed, eventually crashing into a hydraulic barricade near Little Caesar's Arena. Adams was placed under arrest at the scene.Adams has been charged with: Carjacking, Unarmed Robbery, Unlawful Driving Away of an Automobile, Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property-Motor Vehicle, Malicious Destruction Police Property and Resisting and Obstructing*. He was arraigned today in 36th District Court and received a $100,000 cash/surety bond. The probable cause conference is scheduled for April 10, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. and the preliminary examination is scheduled for April 16, 2018

Flat Rock Double Homicide Update - The police are continuing to investigate the case. A warrant request is not expected until later this week.

Allegation of Sexual Assault Regarding an 11th Precinct Male Police Official - Today WCPO has received a warrant request for this case that is currently being reviewed. An update will be sent out once a decision has been made. A charging decision is not expected today.

River Rouge Man Charged With Impersonating a Police Officer

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Blake Purvis, 23 (DOB: 09/28/1994), of River Rouge, in connection with impersonating a police officer. On March 24, 2018 at approximately 6:30 p.m., it is alleged that Purvis was driving a black SUV with police-inspired decals on the car and wearing clothes resembling a police uniform. It is further alleged he used flashing lights to make a fake traffic stop of a woman who was driving her car at the Lodge Freeway near the I-94. When the woman became suspicious of the defendant's car, she kept driving and immediately reported the incident to the police. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department resulted in the identification and charging of the defendant.

Purvis has been charged with Impersonating a Peace Officer, (one-year misdemeanor), and Possession of Flashing Lights (90 day misdemeanor).* He was arraigned on April 4, 2018 before 36th District Court Magistrate Dawn M. White. The defendant is scheduled for a Pre-Trial on April 16, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. before Judge Roberta Archer in 36th District Court. The defendant received a $5,000/10% bond.

Instagram Fatal Shooting Case - WCPO received a warrant request for this afternoon that was returned for further investigation by the Detroit Police Department.

Detroit Man Charged in December 2015 Homicide

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Joseph Ivan Gray, 37, (DOB: 09/29/1980), of Detroit, in connection with the homicide of Korteze Woods, 30, also of Detroit.

On December 17, 2015, at approximately 7:59 a.m., Detroit Police officers were dispatched to Intervale Street and Meyers Road to investigate a body in a vehicle. Medics were also dispatched to the scene and pronounced Woods dead at the scene. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department of the incident led to the arrest of the defendant. The facts and evidence in the case will be presented in court at the preliminary examination.

Gray has been charged with Murder - First Degree, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Felony Firearm*. He is expected to be arraigned on the warrant tomorrow in 34th District Court in Romulus.
