Gas Station Shooting - WCPO has received the warrant request in a shooting case that occurred on Fenkell on March 20, 2016. There will not be an arraignment in this matter today. An update will be sent out when a charging decision has been made.

Detroit Woman Charged in Fenkell Gas Station Shooting

Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Shamicah Burton, 20, (DOB 11/28/95), of Detroit, in connection with a non-fatal shooting incident that occurred at a gas station in the 15500 block of Fenkell. On March 20, 2016, at 4:30 a.m. it is alleged that Burton went to the passenger side of the car she was in and grabbed a handgun, fired shots, and struck a male victim multiple times. The defendant fled from the scene in a car. Investigation by the Detroit Police included observing security footage taken from the gas station that led to the identification and arrest of the defendant.

Burton has been charged with two counts of Assault with Intent of Murder, Carrying with Unlawful Intent, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Felony Firearm. The defendant was arraigned today in 36th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference has been scheduled for April 5, 2016 at 8:30 a.m.; the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for April 12, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Kenneth King in 36th District Court. Burton received a $500,000 cash/surety bond.

Timmy Lynn Soto, Nicole Oneill and Christian Rasnick - Defendants charged in the homicide of DFD firefighter David Madrigal. Their probable cause conferences took place today before Judge Kenneth King. The preliminary examination was re-scheduled to April 15th at 10:00 am.

Elazar Alexander Withers - 28 (DOB: 9/10/87), of Detroit - Defendant and victim met on an online dating app. The defendant has been charged with Kidnapping, Criminal Sexual Conduct - First Degree, two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct - Second Degree, Armed Robbery and Felony Firearm of a 30-year-old Detroit male that occurred on March 18, 2016 at 3:45 a.m. at the location of Reno and Fairmont in Detroit. The probable cause conference is scheduled for April 5, 2016 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for April 12, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Shannon Holmes. The defendant received a $100,000 cash/surety bond.

Bernard A. Hardrick - 29, (DOB: 10/6/87) of Detroit - Defendant charged in connection with a real estate scheme that was designed to defraud people out of money by selling properties obtained with fraudulent Quit Claim Deeds. On March 23, 2016, he was convicted by a jury before Judge Michael Hathaway of: one count of Conducting Criminal Enterprises; nine counts of filing a Fraudulent Conveyance Affecting Real Property; nine counts of Uttering and Publishing a Document Affecting Real Property; and three counts of False Pretenses, $1000 to $20,000. He will be sentenced on April 15, 2016 at 9:00 a.m.

Latonia Fletcher - 30, (DOB: 12/20/86) of Detroit - Defendant charged in connection with a real estate scheme with Bernard Hardrick that was designed to defraud people out of money by selling properties obtained with fraudulent Quit Claim Deeds. On February 26, 2016, she pleaded guilty to Forgery of a Document Affecting Real Property, and False Pretenses, $1000 to $20,000 before Judge Cynthia Gray Hathaway. She will be sentenced on April 1, 2016 at 9:00 a.m.

Hazel Park Man Arrested With Wife Found Shot in His Truck - WCPO has just received a warrant request in the case that occurred on March 23, 2016 at approximately 2:30 p.m. in a field near Lyford and Gilbo in Detroit. An update will be sent out whenever a charging decision is made.

Detroit Woman Charged with Armed Robbery

On March 19, 2016 at approximately 6:10 p.m., two women were walking west-bound on Fenkell Avenue. It is alleged that Shamicah Burton, 20 (DOB: 11/28/1995), of Detroit, pulled out of a driveway driving her vehicle and began driving in their direction. It is further alleged that Burton approached the victims, got out of the vehicle armed with a handgun, threatened them and robbed them of their purses and other items. The defendant then fled the area in the vehicle.

Prosecutor Kym Worthy said, "The evidence shows that this defendant has been very busy preying on our citizens. We will be very diligent in our quest to make sure justice is done in these cases."

Burton has been charged two counts of Armed Robbery, Carrying a Concealed, Felony Firearm. She is expected to be arraigned later this morning in 34th District court in Romulus because 36th District Court is closed. Please confirm the arraignment time with the court

Hazel Park Man Charged with Assault on Wife

Radu Vasile Muntean, 34 (DOB: 3/25/81), of Hazel Park, has been charged with Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm, Unlawful Imprisonment, Felonious Assault and Felony Firearm by Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy.

On March 23, 2016 at approximately 1:00 p.m., it is alleged that Muntean was in a field at Lyford and Gilbo in Detroit, when he was discovered by an undercover Grosse Pointe police officer. It is alleged that Muntean had his badly beaten 32-year-old wife in the truck, with gunshot wounds to her legs. The defendant was arrested on the scene. The evidence in the case will be presented in court at the preliminary examination.

The defendant was arraigned this morning in 34th District Court in Romulus because 36th District Court is closed. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for April 7, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.; the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for April 15, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. Both hearings are before Judge Patricia Jefferson. The defendant received a $100,000 cash/surety/10% bond.

Uber Driver Homicide - There is warrant request that was received this morning that is currently being reviewed. At this time it is not anticipated that there will be an arraignment in the case today or over the weekend. An update will be sent out when a charging decision has been made.
