Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Clelie Faith Choute, 27 (DOB: 07/07/1990), of Pontiac, MI, in connection with leaving her two infants unattended in a vehicle in the MGM Grand Casino parking structure.

It is alleged that on August 19, 2017 at approximately 11:55 p.m., an MGM Grand Casino security officer was notified of two children in a vehicle unattended. When the security officer arrived, he found a two-year-old male toddler and a six-month-old female infant were inside a vehicle unattended. The Detroit Police Department was notified and the children were removed from the vehicle and released to their father. The defendant was located inside the casino and taken into custody.

Choute has been charged with two counts of Child Abuse - Second Degree*. She was arraigned at 2:30 p.m. this afternoon in 36th District Court before Magistrate Millicent Sherman. The probable cause conference is scheduled for August 30, 2017 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for September 6, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. Both hearings are before 36th District Court Judge Lydia Nance Adams. The defendant received a $100,000/10% bond.
