Detroit Man Charged in Hazelwood Non-Fatal Shootings

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Robert Davon McLendon*, 29 (DOB: 10/13/1999), of Detroit, in connection with a shooting incident. On December 5, 2018 at 2:00 a.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to canvas the area of Hazelwood because of a report of multiple shots being fired. They observed a man later identified as the defendant in the 3240 block of Hazelwood running toward Wildemere. McLendon was ordered him to stand down and the officers placed him into custody. A handgun and a magazine were recovered in the area by the police.

It is alleged that on December 5, 2018 in the early morning hours, McLendon shot into a house in the 3200 block of Hazelwood while the three female residents were inside the home. No further information is being released by WCPO at this time because other aspects of the case remain under investigation.

McLendon is facing the following charges: four counts of Assault with Intent to Murder; two counts of Carrying a Dangerous Weapon with Unlawful Intent; eight counts of Discharging a Firearm at a Building; one count of Delivery/Manufacture Cocaine less than 50 Grams; and eight counts of Felony Firearm.**

McLendon was arraigned and remanded to jail today in 36th District Court. His Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for December 14, 2018 and his Preliminary Examination is on December 21, 2018. Both hearings are before Judge William McConico in 36th District Court.
