Beaumont Trenton Hospital Doctor Charged with Embezzlement
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Iqbal Abdul Nasir, M.D., 61 (DOB: 12/27/1956), of Grosse Ile, for the embezzlement of over $100,000 in funds.
It is alleged that on February 13, 2015, in his capacity as the president of, and the sole signatory for, the Medical Executive Committee for the Beaumont Trenton Hospital Medical Staff, Dr. Nasir fraudulently placed the over $116,000 balance of the Committee's certificate of deposit into his personal account. It is further alleged that the defendant never had permission to move any funds from the Committee's account into his personal account.
Nasir has been charged with Embezzlement - $100,000 or More.*
On October 22, 2018 Nasir was arraigned before Judge James Kersten in 33rd District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for October 30, 2018 at 8:30 a.m.; the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for November 6, 2018 at10:3 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Kersten in 33rd District Court. The defendant received a $100,000 personal bond.
