Head Start Policy Council

Each Head Start grantee must establish a policy group that shares responsibility for overseeing the delivery of high quality services to children and families in accordance with Head Start legislation, regulations, and policies.

The Wayne County Health and Family Services Policy Council is comprised of current parent and community representatives who meet monthly on the 1st Wednesday of each month at the Kay Beard Building.

Each Delegate agency has parent representatives to the Policy Council who are elected by the Delegate parents on an annual basis. For more information about the Policy Council composition and regulations that pertain to the Policy Council, go the:
