The Wayne County Department of Public Health now provides a further
benefit for the successful graduates of our Certified Food Manager
course. Anyone who possesses a valid certificate from our course
is eligible to send employees from their establishment to the quarterly
video training sessions at no cost. Each session will run for approximately
2 hours and will include a series of pertinent videos geared toward
demonstrating the importance of safe food handling practices. Each
of the videos will be followed by a brief discussion of the information
presented, and there will be a question and answer period at the
end of the session. If you are interested in this training opportunity,
please call Kathy or Shirley at
734-727-7400 to reserve seats for the employees you will be sending.
March 4 (Tues) 10–noon or September 8 (Mon) 2-4 pm
Join us as we begin to explore the importance of proper food handling practices, especially as they relate to potentially hazardous foods. We will highlight the importance of proper preparation, cooking, and cooling practices, as well as utensil washing and the vitally important topic of personal hygiene.
June 4 (Wed) 2-4 or December 8 (Mon) 10-Noon
In installment 2 we will continue to examine the topic of foodborne illness and its major causes.
Note: This is not a substitute for the training each CFM is required to provide, it is intended as a supplement only.
