START LIVING HEALTHY PROGRAM
Public Information Services

The Wayne County Department of Public Health is pleased to announce its “Start Living Healthy” campaign. The goal of the campaign is to incorporate long-term changes for healthy living into individual lifestyles.

Many of our lifestyle choices are counterproductive to the goal of “Healthy Living.” Let us challenge these areas that put our health at risk. Research suggests that obesity drives increases in pediatric blood pressure and therefore increases the chance that our children may develop health complications such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Let us take up the challenge and “Start Living Healthy!”

The Kickoff for the “Start Living Healthy” campaign begins with a 5K (3.1 mile) walk on October 17 at the Dearborn Hyatt Regency Hotel, located at 600 Town Center Drive. “Wayne County Walks” is scheduled to begin at 7:00 a.m.

On-site registration will be available beginning at 6:30 a.m. that same day.
