Rail

::    Four national freight RR lines provide service for both freight customers and passengers. Five terminals in Wayne County provide a variety of services at convenient locations, including the Port of Detroit and the rail tunnel under the Detroit River. The railroads have Intermodal services that permit easy interchange with ship and truck portage systems. Services at Wayne County rail terminals include trailers on flat cars [TOFC]; containers on flat cars [COFC], warehousing, auto distribution and bulk service facilities.

::    Passenger service is offered through Amtrak at two locations in Wayne County - New Center in Detroit and Dearborn. These locations connect to more than 500 locations nationwide, with connections to western states through Chicago and eastern cities through Toledo.
