::   In the 20th Century, Wayne achieved greatness as the birthplace of the world’s automotive industry and is now continuing its leadership by innovating the next generation of automotive technologies. Though the automotive sector continues to play a key role, Wayne County’s economy has diversified significantly with notable clusters in services, banking, health care, engineering, retail and other areas.

::   Today, great change is underway in Wayne. From pioneering efforts to develop fossil-fuel alternatives to construction of a world headquarters for high-tech giant CompuWare Corp., billions in investment and development are helping position the county for continued excellence.
