Brownfield Redevelopment Authority Reviews proposals for the redevelopment of eligible property and determine what Financial Incentives are necessary to assist the redevelopment, using such tools as Tax Increment Financing [TIF] and the Small Business Tax Credit [SBT].
EPA Pilot Asssessment Grant :: The Wayne County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority [BRA] has received three grants totaling $500,000 from the Environmental Protection Agency to perform preliminary brownfield site assessments on potential development sites. :: The program has been highly successful resulting in millions of dollars in investment throughout the County. The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality has also provided a complimentary grant to perform further site assessments. :: The BRA also manages a $500,000 revolving loan fund for site remediation.
