Pinnacle Aeropark is ultimately a 1,200-acre mixed-use technology park located south of Detroit Metro Airport straddling the City of Romulus and Huron Township. Initial development centers around 150-acres in Huron Township
Studies have shown this land is a largely untapped economic resource that has the potential to generate an enormous economic impact on these communities, airports, and the County as a whole .
The project calls for a variety of uses including corporate headquarters, research and development facilities, logistics centers, communications and information centers, general office and retail space all supported by new infrastructure. Total project investment is expected to reach $150 billion and generate 25,000 new permanent jobs. The County has purchased the land and the State of Michigan anticipates providing the funds for site infrastructure improvements over a 10–15 year period. The Pinnacle will use state of the art green building technology.
The Pinnacle project will be a world-class business park that will meet the needs of those using the airport on a regular basis and others throughout the county, region, and State. It is part of the evolving Wayne County Aerotropolis expected to further leverage the economic benefits of developing some 25,000-acres of undeveloped land between Willow Run and Detroit Metro Airports with a sustainable mix of residential, commercial and industrial development. Combined, Pinnacle Aeropark and the larger Aerotropolis will create new jobs and a high overall quality of life in SE Michigan and Wayne County.
Groundbreaking is expected to take place in the near future.
