::   Quality of life in a community is defined by the standards that community sets for itself and the attractiveness of that community against a national standard by which employees seeking to relocate would consider. Examples of values for these standards include the quality of school systems, transportation networks, quality and affordability of housing, natural amenities, neighborhood services, and crime statistics.

:: The presence of a high quality of life in any given community increases its chances for business attraction and expansion and employee relocation. Quality neighborhoods, services, and schools, are increasingly considered by companies comparing alternative places to locate. The quality of life in a community is dependent upon sound economic development planning which considers a balance between development and community enrichment.
