About the Job:
|
|
Licensed Practical Nurses make medical and observational rounds, distribute medications, obtain and record vital signs and health history, perform phlebotomies, colostomy care, decubitus care and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. They also assist the physician with treatment and examination of patients.
Licensed Practical Nurses who work at the Wayne County Jail-Health Services Division are also responsible for assisting with the treatment and examination of inmates housed in the psychiatric system and monitoring their adjustment to the Wayne County Jail. They also must be able to demonstrate knowledge in medical/surgical nursing, obstetrical nursing and knowledge in the signs, symptoms and treatment of addiction.

Qualifications:
|
|
At the time of application and appointment, applicants must:
·Be currently registered as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the Michigan Board of Nursing.
NOTE: Knowledge in medical/surgical nursing, obstetrical nursing, pediatric nursing and knowledge of addiction signs, symptoms and treatment is preferred.
