Detroit Selected to Host NCAA Men's Final Four in 2009 --- Detroit has been selected to host the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division 1 Men's Basketball Final Four for 2009. The announcement was made on July 1 by the NCAA. The Final Four, which brings in an estimated $75 million in economic impact, will be held at Ford Field and the host school will be University of Detroit Mercy.

Detroit Selected to Host NCAA Men's Frozen Four in 2010 --- Detroit has been selected to host the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Men's Frozen Four hockey tournament for 2010, the CCHA, the Detroit Metro Sports Commission (DMSC) and Ford Field announced today. The games will be held at Ford Field and are tentatively scheduled for April 8 and 10.
