Major Activities & Description
Administration
Responsible for the work flow of personnel transactions, division staffing, payrolls
and timekeeping; interpretation of labor agreements, documentation of grievance
procedures and assisting in all areas of stenographic and clerical work emanating
from the construction and maintenance, engineering and accounting units.
Architectural and Facilities Engineering
Staff is responsible for preparing drawings, specifications, cost estimates, time
estimates, time schedules and construction documents for County building projects,
and for coordinating the work of architectural engineering consultants.
Construction and Maintenance
Responsible for the maintenance construction / renovation and operation of all Wayne
County General Fund buildings including all detention facilities. This unit is also
responsible for providing emergency building services on a 24 hour, seven day a
week basis.
Housekeeping & Grounds
Provides housekeeping, window washing and general labor services as well as grounds
maintenance of facilities under the jurisdiction of the Buildings Division. Inter-County
department relocations and supply distribution is also provided by this unit.
