Education & Workforce
With the highest concentration of engineers in the United States and a workforce
dedicated to quality, Wayne County possesses the human capital necessary to compete
in the global economy. Our County is home to several top universities and community
colleges, producing a workforce that is ready to help your business excel. Metro
Detroit is home to 80 percent of the world’s automotive R&D, and we are attempting to diversify
our manufacturing base to become leaders in aerospace engineering, life sciences,
and alternative energy.
Wayne County’s educational institutions produce graduates with the knowledge and
skills to meet the demands of the market. The dedication and expertise of our professors
is the advantage we offer as we provide students with the practical knowledge needed
to stay current with a changing economy. Our County also works in close partnership
with several workforce development programs to transition our workers for emerging
sectors and new economy jobs.
