General Trials Division

The General Trials Division of the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office is responsible for the Circuit Court adjudication of all felony cases not assigned to special units within the Office. There are four teams within the General Trials Division. Either a Principal Attorney or Deputy Chief manages each team. The four teams staff and handle all of the trial courtrooms (22) and are also responsible for covering the four (4) Arraignment on the Information (AOI) Courts. The General Trials Division is therefore responsible for the majority of the cases in 26 courtrooms. These cases range in seriousness from Larceny and simple Possession of Drugs, to Armed Robbery, Criminal Sexual Conduct-First Degree and First Degree Murder.
