Wayne County Parks is serving notice of a public hearing to announce a proposed project that will be considered for grant funding in Venoy Dorsey Park located in the cities of Westland and Wayne between Venoy and Merriman Roads. The reason for the public hearing is to offer the general public an opportunity to review the project plans and ask questions.

Venoy Dorsey Park Rouge Water Trail Canoe/Kayak Launches
This project will provide an opportunity for people to canoe or kayak along the Lower Rouge River in Venoy Dorsey Park. A canoe/kayak launch and parking will be implemented at the east and west end of the park to allow people to canoe or kayak for a mile. These launches will be accessible for people of abilities to utilize. Other amenities will include trailhead parking, seating, litter receptacles, picnic areas, and signage.
