Wayne County recognizes World AIDS Day with free HIV testing
 
On Thursday, December 1, 2005, the Wayne County Department of Public Health recognizes World AIDS Day with HIV testing and counseling. The free testing and counseling will be provided on a walk-in basis between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Wayne Health Center at 33030 Van Born Road. All personal information remains anonymous and confidential.
 
The Department of Environment Hosts Household Hazardous Waste Collection
 
Wayne County's Department of Environment is hosting the third in a series of Household Hazardous Waste Collections. The collections are designed to accept unwanted household chemicals for proper disposal and electronics for recycling from residents.
 
Super Bowl XL Committee Donates Trees To Wayne County
 
It's a joint effort by the National Football League, the Greening of Detroit, the City of Detroit, the Super Bowl XL Host Committee, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Forest Service to provide 300 trees to Wayne County Parks Division to help improve the environment.
