Cass
Benton, one of the oldest and more hilly areas of Hines Park,
has been popular since the 1920's when it was gifted to
the Park Trustees by Cassius Benton, a former Wayne County Road
Commissioner.
This picnic area is nestled under some of the largest
beech and oak trees found in the park. It offers a picnic shelter
and play structure. The area can hold over 100 people.
The
historic comfort station is a beautiful Tudor structure with
slate-covered gables and oak lintels. During the winter months,
Cass Benton
hill is the most popular spot for sledding.
