The Family Aquatic Center at Chandler Park is the perfect place for recreation and celebrations for all ages. 

Known as Wayne County’s premier waterpark, it is the friendliest waterpark in Michigan! The Family Aquatic Center at Chandler Park is an oasis snuggled into the eastside of Detroit.

Children can cool down under our special spray fountains and wade in their own pool playland. Teens and adults can “tube ride” or “body slide” down our two super-sized water slides.  The whole family can catch the ultimate tan on our sun deck and spend long summer days wading in our exciting wave pool!

Join park mascots Wally the Whale and Dolly the Dolphin for special events held throughout the summer. Special entertainment and activities are planned to give guests the ultimate waterpark experience. Bands, luaus, swim lessons and the Heath Alliance Plan water aerobics classes are just some of the events guests will enjoy.

Get into your best swim gear in our large bath house. Refresh yourself at our “Double Dipping” concession. Purchase swimwear and accessories at the “Tikki Hut”. Let us help you plan family reunions, birthday parties, and other group events at our beautiful facility.

Water safety is a priority at the Family Aquatic Center at Chandler Park. The Family Aquatic Center lifeguards must pass very rigorous training to become certified. In addition, our First Aid station is staffed with emergency medical technicians.

Opening weekend for The Family Aquatic Center at Chandler Park is Saturday, May 24th through Memorial Day, Monday, May 26th.  The aquatic center re-opens for the season June 23rd:

Swim Lessons For All Ages!

It’s never too late to learn how to swim! Participants of all ages can learn how to swim or increase their ability in our swim lessons. The 45 minute swim lessons are held weekdays at the Family Aquatic Center at Chandler Park. The two week sessions begin in June and end in August. Pre-registration is required!

A Great Way to Keep in Shape!

The Family Aquatic Center at Chandler Park now offers Water Aerobics! Participants of all ages can learn how to keep fit by swimming & using effective water exercises. Water Aerobics are offered weekdays at the Family Aquatic Center at Chandler Park. The two week sessions begin in June and end in August. Pre-registration is required!
