The mission of Friends of Wayne County Parks is to encourage citizen support and participation in programs that preserve, promote and enhance the unique resources within Wayne County Parks. The Friends of Wayne County Parks have been actively involved with the Wayne County Parks system on a variety of events including Light Fest, Jazz on the River, and other programs. County Parks Friends of Nankin Mills The mission of the Friends of Nankin Mills is to preserve, renovate and promote the restoration of historic Nankin Mills, its grounds and unique heritage. The Friends of Nankin Mills, which incorporated in 1989, were instrumental in campaigning to preserve the old mill and raising over one million dollars for the renovations of Nankin Mills to an interpretive center. They sponsor the annual Wine & Cheese Social in September, the Christmas Tree Lighting Program and Pioneer Day. If you are interested in preserving the unique history of this region look into joining this dedicated group. Membership is by donation only. Friends of Nankin

The mission of Holliday Nature Preserve Association is to protect and promote the use of the Holliday Forest & Wildlife Preserve. This group provides a series of nature tours throughout the year. They also distribute a newsletter with informative information about tours, clean up efforts on the Rouge River and special interests. Holliday Nature
