Mumford High School (Detroit, MI) and Wayne County Parks is very pleased and excited to announce plans for the Wayne County Track Meet and Robert Lynch Invitational on Saturday May 10, 2008. If you have not already committed your finest athletes, you’ll find that participating in this meet will provide excellent competition and lasting prestige as leading teenagers from throughout the Midwest match their skill during an action packed Saturday.

The 2008 meet will accommodate a state championship style event schedule so athletes will be able to compete and prepare for highest level of automatic timed prep competition. All the while we still keep a $100 total price cap per gender (a maximum of $200 for a combined boys/girls program) as meet management tries to assist your program’s needs during these tight, budget conscious times gripping our nations educational systems.

In 2008 we will begin our journey as a meet to extend our invitations to the finest athletes from throughout the Midwest, with the meet being held at the very fast eight lane all weather facility on the campus of Mumford High School in Detroit, MI located 10 miles northwest of downtown Detroit. Running events will start at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, with Field events opening at 9:00 a.m.

Athletes entered into the meet will be seeded by their 2008 indoor/outdoor performance marks, although very strong consideration also will be given to outstanding 2007 performances. The first six placers in each event will receive awards; with all participating teams coaches will receive a Wayne County Invitational backpack courtesy of meet sponsor and all athletes receiving a t-shirt.

Pre-registration is required through the Wayne County Park System by May 8, 2008. If you need more information, please check www.waynecountyparks.org or call Mumford High School at (313) 530-3102.

Thank you and we hope to see you in May!

Sincerely,
Robert Lynch
