Bob Heimbuch is a Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office. He is a graduate of Kalamazoo College and the University of Detroit School of Law. Since joining the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office in 1995, Heimbuch has served as a litigation attorney in the Homicide Unit and Felony Trial Division. From 1/1/01 to 12/31/02, Heimbuch was Deputy Chief of the Juvenile Court Division and the Police Conduct Review Team, which was responsible for the review of all in-custody prisoner deaths and fatal/non-fatal shootings by police officers that occurred within Wayne County. In January of 2004, Heimbuch was named Chief of the Juvenile Division by Wayne County Prosecutor, Kym L. Worthy. Heimbuch lectures frequently on criminal law and trial practice issues to various law enforcement agencies on a local, state and national level, including the Institute of Continuing Legal Education, National District Attorneys Association, Michigan State Police Homicide Investigation School, Wayne Regional Police Training Center, Detroit Police Academy and the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Medicolegal Death Investigation Course. Heimbuch is a graduate of the Detroit Regional Chamber's Leadership Detroit program (Class XXVI) and was recently named "2005 Lawyer of the Year" by Michigan Lawyers Weekly.
