First Wednesday of Every Month
Eastern District Detroit Police Department Community Meeting – held at the Good Samaritan Church on Conner at 7:00 p.m. Contact Detroit Police Department Eastern District Community Policing at 224-5900 for further information.

The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office is pleased to offer the Change the Culture of Violence Criminal Justice Tour to Wayne County civic groups and/or students.  The tour is designed to introduce citizens to the criminal justice system.  For further information, please contact Darryl Earl at (313) 224-5799.

Three-peat winners! The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office softball team is now three time Detroit Legal Softball Champions! The first place team defeated the second place City of Detroit team in the final championship game. Congratulations Team!

The second session of the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office Citizen Academy ended on October 21, 2008. The Citizens Academy is a free six-week course that offers an inside look at criminal prosecution in Wayne County. There will be another session held in April, 2009. The location will be determined. Watch the website for additional information.

The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office was proud to present the First Annual Alexis Goggins Everyday Hero Award to 8-year-old Alexis. Alexis Goggins stepped in front of her mother to shield her from harm and was injured. The office also presented four 2008 Witness Awards to Mark Hoffert, Maureen Stilwell, Ashley Taylor and Sgt. Lalone in recognition of the sacrifice it takes to appear as a witness in a criminal trial. Our congratulations and thanks to all of the awardees!

The Wayne County Prosecutor’s celebrated the opening of its new out-county office with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 21, 2008. The office is located in the Dearborn Heights Justice Center, 25637 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn Heights, Michigan. The opening of this office is the culmination of the efforts of Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano, Dearborn Heights Mayor Dan Paletko, the Wayne County Police Chiefs, the Dearborn Heights City Council and many others.

We are proud to announce that Wayne County Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy was recently named one of Crain’s 2008 “Women to Watch.”
