  The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office is pleased to offer the Change the Culture of Violence Criminal Justice Tour to Wayne County civic groups and/or students.  The tour is designed to introduce citizens to the criminal justice system.  For further information, please contact Darryl Earl at (313) 224-5799.
  The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office softball team – two-time back-to-back champions – are doing great so far this season!  Playoffs are scheduled to begin August 12 and we look forward to keeping the championship!  Go team!
  Principal Homicide Attorney Rob Moran and Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Pat Muscat were featured in the premiere issue of Motion Magazine.   The article focused technology used in the courtroom in high profile homicide cases.
  Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Tom Dawson was part of the Yare crew in the 2008 Bayview Mackinaw race.  Yare is as 36 foot sailboat built in 1963 and was the only boat in the race to have a wooden mast.  Yare came in second in its class and 4th overall in the Cruising Division. 
  The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, along with the U.S. Marshall, Wayne County Sheriff, U.S. Attorneys Office and the Rev. Edgar Vann, Pastor, Second Ebenezer Baptist Church, received the Spirit of Detroit Award from the Detroit City Council.
September 16, 2008 Opening date for the second Wayne County Prosecutors Office Citizens Academy.  Citizens Academy is a free six-week course that offers an inside look at criminal prosecution in Wayne County.  Space is limited to the first 225 applicants.  An information flyer and registration application is available on our website.  Please contact Nicole Scott at (313) 224-5780 for additional information.
September 16, 2008 Mary DuFour Morrow, Lead Attorney, Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Unit, will present on the Landlord Penalty law at the HUD National Healthy Homes Conference in Baltimore, MD.
September 17, 2008 The State Bar of Michigan will present the Champion of Justice Award to Mary DuFour Morrow, Lead Attorney, Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Unit.  Congratulations, Mary!
October 2, 2008 Mary DuFour Morrow, Lead Attorney, Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Unit, will address BALBOA (a group of landlords and realtors in the Saginaw, Midland and Bay City area) in Bay City, MI.
October 8, 2008 The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office and the Canton Police Department will present “Who’s in your wallet?”  This program is designed to provide information on how to protect yourself from identity theft and computer crimes.  The presentation will be held from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Summit on the Park, 46000 Summit Parkway in Canton.  Register by calling (734) 394-5460 by October 6, 2008.
