The Wayne County Prosecutor applies for federal, state, and local grants that are applicable to the mission and goals of the Office. Many grants require a local match that must be in the Office’s budget before applying for such grants. Each grant requires a project director who has direct responsibility for the program. All financial management of the grants is the responsibility of the Chief of Finance & Administration.
The Office’s largest grant is the Child Care Fund, funded by the State of Michigan Department of Human Services. There are eleven separate programs in Fiscal Year 2006. Six of these programs are in the Juvenile Division, three are in the Child & Family Abuse Unit, one is in the Major Drug Unit, and one is in the Felony Non-Support Unit.
