The Wayne County Sheriff's Office Executive staff is made of law enforcement and civilian professionals who manage the day-to-day operations of Michigan's 2nd largest law enforcement agency, which consists of more than 1,300 employees and has an operating budget of more than $120 million. It is the executive staff's job to make sure that jail operations run smoothly, efficiently and safely; that all field operations units are providing the greatest possible benefit to public safety, and to ensure that the department's budget is managed wisely.

It is the responsibility of the Information Technology Staff to make sure that the Sheriff's Office has access to all of the latest available technology to help the department do its work as efficiently as possible as part of its overall mission to provide public safety.
The Internal Affairs unit is responsible for investigating complaints regarding the conduct of all Sheriff's Office employees.
