Warrant Enforcement Bureau

The Warrant Enforcement Bureau (WEB) is responsible for serving all arrest warrants that are issued for individuals in Wayne County.  Some units, including the Parole Absconder Unit, are funded by outside sources, such as the Michigan Department of Corrections. WEB officers also work closely with the Wayne County Department of Children & Family Services and the Michigan Department of Human Services on many issues involving children and juveniles. The Warrant Enforcement Bureau is under the direction of Commander Christopher Clark.

Fugitive Apprehension Service Team [FAST]

FAST Team
This joint Wayne County Sheriff – Detroit Police Department unit was created in January 2003 and given the sole mission to apprehend individuals wanted on felony warrants for offenses such as robbery, rape, murder, parole and probation violations.  In its first four years of existence, the FAST team has arrested more than 12,000 felony fugitives.
If you have information on someone who may be wanted by the authorities, call the FAST office at (313) 596-2005, or Crimestoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP.  All tips can be given anonymously.

Parole Absconder Unit

Parole Absconder
This unit works on referrals from the Michigan Department of Corrections to identify parolees who have failed to report to their parole agent or otherwise significantly violated the terms of their supervised release and for whom a new arrest warrant has been issued.
If you know someone who is on parole and needs to be investigated for possible parole violations, please call (313) 297-5230.

SPOTCHECK Unit

SPOTCHECK Unit
This Unit works in conjunction with Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) Parole Agents in conducting random home / compliance checks of active parolees and probationers. This approach is designed to make sure these individuals understand that even though they have been entrusted with the privilege of remaining in the community as opposed to jail or prison, they are still under watchful eyes.

In its first three years of operation, Spot Check officers conducted nearly 10,000 unannounced home checks. During those home checks, violations were found that have resulted in the arrests of 244 parolees or probationers, more than 100 of which ended up going back to prison, and the confiscation of more than 40 guns.  “It is safe to say that many crimes were prevented because of the work of these officers,” Evans said.
If you know someone who is on parole or probation and may be in violation of their supervised release, please call (313) 297-5230. All calls will remain confidential

“Last Call” Unit

"Last Call" Unit
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is the first law enforcement agency in Michigan to routinely track down people who have failed to appear for their court date of have violated the terms of their probation for charges related to driving while intoxicated.  Deputies perform localized “sweeps” to round up the absconders and bring them directly before a judge.  As a result of this team’s efforts, local district courts report that fewer drunken driving suspects are skipping out on their court dates.
If you know someone who has been arrested for drunken driving, but is failing to meet their obligations, please call 734-721-2222. All callers may remain anonymous.
