Sheriff's Office seeks public's help in finding missing 14-year old Detroit girl
| --- |
Girl has been missing since October, but may have been seen recently |
The Wayne County Sheriff's Missing & Exploited Children's Task Force is asking for the public's help in finding 14-year old Paige Denise Carter of Detroit, who has been missing since October 23, 2004.
Paige, who's photo is listed on the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children's website, was last seen at home near Elmhurst and Webb on Detroit's west side. While investigators don't believe she was abducted, Paige did not take any clothes or personal belongings and feel that Paige may be staying with an older male. She may have been spotted recently in the area of Seven Mile and Conant on Detroit's east side.
In the past 18 months, sheriff's deputies have safely recovered more than 700 missing children and juveniles. Our officers have a very good track record at finding missing juveniles but they are asking for the public's help in this case.
Paige's father is very concerned for her safety, and continues to post flyers with her photo around town. According to investigators, Paige is a good kid who has never run away before and has not gotten into any serious trouble. However, for a girl of her age to be out on her own, possibly in the company of individuals who could harm her, puts her at great risk for exploitation.
Paige goes by the nickname "Pinky" and has a birthmark on her torso. She is 5' 2" and weighs approximately 120 pounds.
Anyone with information on the possible whereabouts of Paige are asked to call the Wayne County Sheriff's Missing & Exploited Children's Task Force at 313-297-5230.
Note: The Sheriff's Office can arrange for an interview with Paige's father.
