Prostitution unit nabs 53-year old man looking for sex with
an 11-year old --- Chesterfield Township man had prior sex offenses
Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies on Friday arrested what
they say is one of the worst sexual predators they have encountered.
According to Sheriff Warren Evans, Randall Raymond Johnson, 53,
of Chesterfield Township, attempted to go through a prostitute
to arrange a sexual encounter with an 11-year old girl.
Approximately two weeks ago, the Wayne County Sheriff’s
office received a tip from a confidential informant about the man.
The informant directed Randall to a female undercover deputy who
said she could find him a young girl. In taped conversations, Randall
offered to pay the undercover officer $200 for her service.
Randall also said that he planned to photograph the encounter
and that if things “went well” he would be interested
in having sex with the girl’s eight-year old brother. Randall
said he intended to videotape that encounter.
“The conversations Mr. Randall had with our undercover officer
were extremely graphic and specific in nature,” Evans said. “He
also was very comfortable talking about his experiences, which
is a strong indicator that he may have done something like this
before.”
A meeting was set up at a hotel in southwest Detroit on Friday
evening where Randall, the undercover officer and the girl were
supposed to meet. Sheriff’s deputies arrested Randall shortly
after he arrived at the site.
Based on Randall’s conversations, Evans said his investigators
are looking into the possibility that Randall has molested young
children in the past. Eighty explicit images involving the young
children were found on Randall’s computer.
Randall was remanded without bond and is being held at the Wayne
County jail. He was video arraigned on Sunday in 34th District
court in Romulus on attempted Criminal Sexual Conduct [1st-degree]
a 20-year felony
Since his computers and the child pornography were seized in Macomb
County, we will be turning over those files to Macomb County’s
computer crime unit, which will work with Macomb prosecutors on
the case.
