Online deputies nab Saginaw man seeking sex with 7- & 12-year old sisters

--	Suspect, a father of a 4-year-old daughter, thought he was arranging tryst through the father of two young girls

In one of its more disturbing cases, the Wayne County Sheriff's Internet Crime Unit recently arrested the father of a four-year old girl who had arranged to have sex with two girls, ages seven and 12, after chatting online with who he thought was the girls' father. In reality, Joseph Sayan, 38, of Saginaw, was chatting with an undercover Wayne County Sheriff's Deputy.

"Our investigator was approached in a typical online chat room that average people use every day," said Wayne County Sheriff Warren Evans. "When the suspect came to believe that our officer had two young daughters, he began inquiring about having sex with them."

Evans said that the officer, who has seen this type of activity on the Internet, played along, appearing to be willing to allow Sayan to fulfill his bizarre fantasy. "As hard to believe as it may be, this kind of thing really does happen. This case is sad evidence of that fact."

Sayan had chatted with the officer on an off for more than a month before arranging a specific time and place to meet. On the day of the arranged meeting, Sayan was traveling from Saginaw to metro Detroit to drop off his four-year-old daughter to her mother. The girl's mother, who is not married to Sayan, lives in Florida, which is where she returned with the girl.

Though Sayan denies he has ever abused his daughter, investigators in Florida will be speak with she and her mother to try and determine if the girl has been sexually abused.

Sayan has been charged with Illegal Use of the Internet and is being held at the Wayne County Jail on $200,000 bond.
