Commander Christopher Clark, a veteran of over 20 years in the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, has assumed the duties of Commander of the Special Operations division. He is currently responsible for investigative units such as Fugitive Apprehension, Narcotics, Morality/Vice, Internet Crimes, Auto Theft, and the Youth Bureau, which includes the Juvenile Warrant Unit, the Neglect/Abuse Child Rescue Unit, and the Missing and exploited Children Task Force. Having come up through the ranks of Investigator, Sergeant, Lieutenant and Executive Lieutenant, he brings a wealth of experience to the position, in addition to his most recent (2004) appointment and assignment of Commander.
His prior assignments have included Narcotics/Vice, Gang Squad, Youth Tobacco Enforcement, Internet Crimes, and Warrant Enforcement. He has been Operations Lieutenant of the multi-agency Wayne County Violent Fugitive Task Force. He also serves on various law enforcement committees committed to increasing public safety.
Commander Clark holds a Bachelors Degree in Law Enforcement & Sociology from Wayne State University and he attained his Masters Degree in Police Administration from Eastern Michigan University. In 2003, he became a graduate of the Western Michigan University School of Police Staff and Command. And in 2005 he became a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigations National Academy (221 st).
