Deputy Chief Scott Gatti has been with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office since 1991. He has worked in the Jail Division, Circuit Court Division, and Executive Division as an officer, and as an Internal Affairs detective. As a sergeant, his assignments included the Special Investigations Unit and the Wayne County Warrant Enforcement Bureau. He has been Operations Lieutenant of the multi-agency Wayne County Violent Fugitive Task Force and Executive Lieutenant of the Special Services Investigative Unit.
Deputy Chief Gatti attained the rank of Commander in 2003 and was in charge of the Special Operations Division. This division included most of the investigative units within the department including Narcotics Enforcement, Morality Enforcement, Special Investigations, Friend of Court Enforcement, OUIL Fugitive Unit, and Civil Process, as well as, the Special Response Team (SRT). As commander, he was also in charge of the officers assigned to the Warrant Enforcement Bureau, which included the Fugitive Apprehension Service Team (FAST), the Violent Juvenile Unit, the Neglect/Abuse Child Rescue Unit, and the Missing and Exploited Children Unit. He attained the rank of Deputy Chief in 2006 and currently serves as Legal Advisor to the Sheriff.
Deputy Chief Gatti has a Juris Doctor degree from Wayne State Law School and a Bachelor of Science degree from Wayne State University.
